Book festival “Red square” will be held from 1 to 6 June 2019. This was during a fair Non/fiction was told by the head of Rospechat Mikhail Seslavinsky.
On the second day of the festival “Non/fiction” within its walls held a meeting of the organising Committee for the support of literature, publishing and reading in the Russian Federation. This body was created in early 2016, by transformation of the organizing Committee on holding the year of Literature in Russia: its President Sergey Naryshkin has noticed that the annual program has ended, and problems, to solve which a representative Assembly of statesmen and cultural figures began, left – and his colleagues supported the decision to continue working for at least another two years, 2016-2018.
And now it’s time to summarize this work and outline the future.
Opening “session”, Sergei Naryshkin reminded the main thing that has been done in four years: book festival “Red square” became a permanent, released three impressive volumes of the anthology “Literature of peoples of Russia” – poetry, children’s literature, prose, and is working on a four – drama. Through a variety of programmes to support young readers and writers – who gained national scope of the contest of young readers “Live classics” until supported by the organizing Committee of the Filatov Fund workshops for young writers, known as “limes”, although they have long gone beyond this suburban boarding house. Sergei Naryshkin emphasized that studies have shown that the greatest demand among Russian readers are books for children and historical literature, including art, and you need to maintain these areas.
The head of Rospechat Mikhail Seslavinsky, in turn, confirmed: in 2019 book festival “Red square” will be held 1-6 June (i.e., six days from Saturday to Thursday), the funds in the budget.
Laid down 30 million on the first phase of the program of support of children and youth reading. Supported young artists through the organization of forums for young writers – they received over 300 applications from the regions.
Solved also the issue about the launch of a new online resource support program of national literatures.
