In honor of the year of Turgenev in Russia from 12 to 16 November in the Northern capital will pass the international festival of University theatre “ТургеневFEST”. On the small stage of Bolshoi drama theater the audience will show a variety of interpretations of classics from kinetic theatre to “Noble nest” in Korean realities. Their works in St. Petersburg will present the theatres of Italy, USA, Germany, South Korea, Armenia, Indonesia, Lithuania and of course Russia.
Just for five days will perform ten University teams. The main feature of the festival is in its multilingualism: the plays will be performed in Russian, English and Italian, it literally allows guests to look at familiar literary works in new ways. In simultaneous interpreters, who will work on each of the productions.
– “ТургеневFEST” is an opportunity to see the interpretation of Russian classics by the representatives of different cultures. The main idea of the festival is to develop international artistic and academic links through the dissemination of Russian culture inside and outside of Russia, – stressed the organizer of the festival, head of strategic projects of the alumni Association of the St. Petersburg state University Maxim Fishelev.
But “ТургеневFEST” is not only the performances, but the competition between theatres. Choose the best one to be authoritative jury, which included Director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, honoured artist of Russia Anna Kovalchuk, Director of the St. Petersburg Museum of theatrical and musical art Natalia Metelitsa, writer Andrey Astvatsaturov, chief editor of Theatre magazine Marina Dmitrevskaya and composer Vladimir Rannev.
The festival is organized by the Association of graduates of the St. Petersburg state University and will be held in the framework of the VII St. Petersburg international cultural forum.
