The project “Books in the subway” launched in the capital’s metro on August 30
MOSCOW, December 7. Passengers of the Moscow metro was downloaded more than 100 thousand e-books in the project “Books in the subway” for three months from the beginning of his work. This was reported on the website of the municipality.
It is noted that since the launch of the project (i.e. three months) Muscovites have downloaded more than 100 thousand books.
According to the Deputy head of the Moscow metro for the development of client services and working with passengers Yulia Temnikovo, the project developed an unusual design of a virtual bookshelf. She also noted that the design of the plates with QR-codes in harmony with the appearance of the station “Rasskazovka”, its design resembles a library, and “Pushkin” panel with a portrait of A. S. Pushkin graced the wall next to his monument.
As noted in the city hall, the virtual bookshelf in the form of a mosaic with a portrait of Pushkin at Pushkinskaya appeared recently. It is located in the transition between the stations “Pushkinskaya” and “Chekhovskaya”. On the virtual shelf there is the novel “Eugene Onegin” and “Dubrovsky”, poem “the bronze horseman” and “Ruslan and Ludmila”, the story “the stationmaster”, “captain’s daughter” and “Queen of spades”. Near the spines of books are QR codes, using them you can download each of them.
The project “Books in the subway” was launched in the capital’s subway on 30 August 2018. At the station “Rasskazovka” appeared first virtual bookshelf. Among the most popular pieces of online reading includes “journey to the center of the Earth” by Jules Verne, “Alice in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll, “vanity Fair” William Thackeray, “the Cherry orchard” by Anton Chekhov.
At the moment in the electronic library metro collected more than 100 classical works, Russian and world literature: Leo Tolstoy, Alexander Pushkin, Marina Tsvetaeva, George sand, Jack London, Mark TWAIN, etc. Number of books will increase. To download the selected product, the user must scan the QR code on the spine of the book using the camera of a smartphone or a special app to read these codes.
