Maria Stepanova received the award “Big book” for the novel “Memory of memory”

MOSCOW, December 4. Writers Maria Stepanova, Alexander Arkhangelsky and Dmitry Bykov named as laureates of the national literary prize “Big book”. The awards ceremony was held in the Pashkov House in Moscow, the correspondent of TASS.

Guests of the ceremony observed a minute of silence in memory of the departed in 2018 writers – Vladimir Sharov, Vladimir Voinovich, Eduard Uspensky, Andrey Bitov.

According to tradition, in the beginning, was awarded the prize for contribution to literature, it was received by Lyudmila Petrushevskaya.

“The reader expects books, suitable for meditation and work in order to call them difficult reading. First place was awarded to Maria Stepanova – “Memory of memory”, – said the Chairman of the award jury, Dmitry Bak.

Stepanov called the victory “Aghorasiva news” and urged readers to solidarity. In particular, she asked guests during the festival to remember the “Seventh Studio”.

The second jury prize was awarded to Arkhangelsk for the novel “Bureau of verification”, the third prize went to Bykov for the book “June”. Prize of the readers ‘ vote also received Bykov, Oleg Ermakov (“the rainbow and Heather”), Andrey Filimonov (“recipes for the creation of the world”).

About the award

National literary prize “Big book” established in 2005 by the Center of support of domestic literature. Co-founders are the TASS, Institute of Russian literature, Russian book Union, the Ministry of culture, Rospechat and others.

The main prize of 3 million rubles, the second – 1.5 million rubles, the third – 1 million rubles. Award set consists of memorable award sign and diploma.

Among the winners of previous years – writers Leonid Yuzefovich, Yevgeny Vodolazkin, Lyudmila Ulitskaya, and others.
