Keira Knightley played the controversial writer

Hollywood actress keira Knightley has played the writer Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, known not only as a talented literature, but as a woman who challenged public notions about the word, fashion and sexuality.

The film “Colette” talks about how the husband of the writer and music critic Henri Gauthier Villars, nicknamed Willy, shamelessly uses the spouse as a “literary Negro”. Colette wrote a series of successful biographical novels “Claudine”, which Willy gives their own in exchange for undeserved glory. Bohemian pair is transformed into a sensation in the highest circles of French society, but very soon Colette realizes that she must find their own way. Ahead of the imminent separation from her husband, meeting new people, scandalous performances, novels and the struggle for a voice.

Keira Knightley perfectly into the role of the writer. Perhaps this helped her love for literature: the actress loves to read and often starred in adaptations. For example, she was nominated for a Golden globe for her role in the film adaptation of “Atonement”, the “Oscar” for her role in the film “Pride and prejudice”, for the prize of the European film Academy for the game in the film “Anna Karenina”.
