Open debate, the jury passed on the Krasnoyarsk fair of book culture

At the XII Krasnoyarsk fair of book culture ended the debate of the jury prize of the NOSE (“New literature”), which was selected ten finalists for 2018.

They are:

  • Ksenia Buksha “Open inside”
  • Alla Gorbunova “Things and ears”
  • Denis Gorelov “native land of elephants”
  • Yuri Leiderman “Moabit Chronicles”
  • Natalia Meshchaniniv “Stories”
  • Evgenia Nekrasova “Calcina-Malachina”
  • Anna Nemzer “Round”
  • Victor Pelevin “iPhuck 10”
  • Lyudmila Petrushevskaya “We were stolen. Crime story”
  • Maria Stepanova “Memory of memory”

It is noteworthy that in the popular vote, which now takes place on the award site, with a huge lead, the novel by Victor Pelevin. It has 114 votes, while the nearest competitor Anna Nemzer — 40.

The shortlists and award winners will be held at the end of January 2019.

The award jury this year included theatre critic Marina Davydova, translator Agnieszka Piotrowska, scholar Tatiana Venediktova, a political scientist Ekaterina Shulman and Chairman of the jury of the critic Anna Narinsky.

Award NOSE founded in 2009 charity Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation to reveal and support new trends in contemporary art literature in Russian. This year the award will be awarded for the tenth time. The uniqueness of the awards lies in the openness of decision-making in determining the short list and the winner of the competition jury and experts are in the presence of the audience and also streamed online. The winner of the 2017 was Vladimir Sorokin for his novel “Manaraga”.
